Anyone suffering from insomnia already knows how devastating its effects can be on quality of life. Insomnia is a serious condition that can lead to further chronic health problems if left untreated.
Some common symptoms of insomnia include:
The #1 prescribed medication for insomnia is Zolpidem. Unfortunately, long-term use of Zolpidem, along with other anti-anxiety drugs, can lead to drug tolerance that reduces their effectiveness. For Orange County patients seeking an alternative approach, Laguna Hills Center for Sleep Apnea offers a more long-term solution for insomnia.
Our holistic approach utilizes integrative medicine which focuses on treating the root causes of insomnia, rather than just alleviating symptoms. We combine Eastern and Western medicine to create individual treatment plans that can be modified according to the needs of each patient. Insomnia treatments could include a combination of prescribed medications, acupuncture, and aromatherapy, along with education in the areas of acupressure, self-care massage, sleep hygiene, and diet.
The Laguna Hills Center for Sleep Apnea is led by Dr. Angham (Ann) Abdulla, DDS, a Board Certified Dentist who has over 25 years of experience in dental sleep medicine. Her highly-effective holistic treatments have been proven to provide relief from sleepless nights, jaw pain, snoring, and other common symptoms of CPAP intolerance, TMJ, and sleep apnea.
Dr. Abdulla is assisted in her practice by Dr. Cynthia Diep, DDS, a licensed dentist with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the UCLA and over 29 years of experience. Dr. Diep specializes in treating insomnia through advanced integrative medicine, and uses the best of modern Western practices and traditional Chinese medicine to achieve lasting relief for her patients.
Our treatment plans are FDA-approved, and are covered under most PPO plans. We also offer CareCredit financing for Orange County patients who qualify.
I went to see Dr. Abdulla for TMJ and sleep apnea. I had recently got back from a trip and thought I had hurt my neck on a pillow, I had been to see a chiropractor 3 times to no avail.
She believed my neck hurt so bad from the TMJ. (I just thought I had a clicking jaw). I was going to go for physical therapy. She said just give me 4 visits for TMJ and if you are not feeling better then go to PT. My neck was feeling better after 2 visits! My neck pain is gone and I am sleeping so much better since I started wearing the mouth piece for sleep apnea. I highly recommend Dr. Abdulla!
